It's lit with one flash head and softbox. I'm using a Sony A57 to test out the flash's 14 frames per second FP mode. So this shot was also taken on the Sony.
It was colour but i though a quick refinement in Lightroom 4 would make it a more interesting image.
The background is a piece of Formica I picked up from B&Q which seems to work well. I added a vignette to darken the corners

Bg works well Pete but maybe to show this test off better you should have left it as a coloured image as yellows are a so & so to work with under lights, the colour blows so quickly & can look quite insipid with the wrong lighting.
I do like the position in the frame & the light looks ok on the mono version from where I'm sitting.
I like the placement of the daffodil in the frame and that you don't have that stem coming right out of the corner. Would have liked a colour version to work with for mono conversion - I've dabbled in Nik Silver Efex with it, but am not getting anything I like better than this
Don't know how much yellow was left in the dried bloom, but thought a yellow filter might give the flower itself a bit more punch and brightness in conversion.

I like both shots but the colour might win by a smidgeon
