Please could anyone confirm that this little spider I found outside on the wall today is a Phidippus johnsoni....I have added a couple of other images of this spider....I looked it up on Wikipedia & it looks Identical to the Western North American red back jumping spider...the only difference I can see is this one has two white markings above its head...If it is a Phidippus johnsoni I havn't been able to see any infomation of it being here in Cyprus....The main reason I want to know what it is is because it was very near Forbes Henry & Lilly;s pen...my dogs...& I need to know if it could harm them...It did jump several times....on one of the images it looks like it has a web...the spider is about the size of my little finger nail & if it is a Phidippus johnsoni its a female....thank you in advance for any information or thoughts on this spider...
Please excuse the quality of the images..but the spider is so tiny & I have had to hard crop them.
Thank you Mike...(oldgreyheron)
Best Wishes
Pauline
