Many thanks to Neil Young (the fisherman, not the singer!) for rising to the challenge of catching a couple of pretty and not-too-large mackerel for photographic purposes. I'd intended to photograph them and then eat them (cooking them in between, obviously...) but, being a bit disorganised, it took me almost a week to get around to doing anything with them, by which time they were practically walking out of the fridge by themselves Smile

Thanks for looking and for all the comments and clicks on the previous uploads - I really appreciate you taking the time Smile

In total agreement with Walter!
My first job, in the hot summer of 1959, was working in a kitchen; one night we left two fresh mackerel out of the fridge by mistake, and next morning . . . the smell could not be described.

I believe it's good to leave fresh mackerel in the fridge to relax. I think a day's better than a week though!

The textures and tones are super and the (imagined) interaction between the two is great.

I love this - you've taken a simple subject, given it a suitable background and processed it exceptionally well, and the result is that it looks like an expensive print that should be on someone's wall. Well done!

Many thanks to Conrad for the UA - very kind of you Smile and to everyone for your comments and clicks - I really appreciate them. David, these fish were definitely relaxed - if I'd been wanting to photograph flies they'd have been brilliant as bait Smile
Cheers
