Much to look at here, Lesley. The contrast of lifestyles - the fishing boats on the one hand and the industrialised world on the other. And that rain falling in the distance adds tremendously to what you describe.
The plume of smoke from the factory adds drama to an already threatening looking scene.

wow great image with lots of interest and the comp works well with the baskets in such a good position they draw the eye into the picture.
I like the clouds in the back ground as it is obviously raining hard there hinting it is coming for you and the busy harbour full of fishing boats, lovely to see.

Ian.

I would tone down the nets and grass as the tend to dominate the image. Then you have a lovely balanced sceene

In the right conditions this is a smashing location, all you were missing is the light, you got the moody clouds

The top 2/3 rds of this are quite special Lesley. great moody rain filled sky and the plume on the left is tremendous as are the boats, I have to agree with the fg needing darkened down, do that and you have a real cracker for your few minutes before the rain arived. Wish I'd been there, looks terrific.
