This was a shot taken whilst on holiday in Malta.

We had a walk round Rabat which is Gozo's capital. Some lovely quiet and quaint backstreets to wander around.

I was somewhat surprised to come across this scene with an old Mini of a certain vintage just parked up!! Love stuff like this.

Taken hand held, I made 3 exposures from the one frame (2 stops under, metered and 2 stops over) in Lightroom, and then processed as HDR in Photomatix Pro 3. Finished off in CS3 using several B & W layers with different blending modes and opacities.

Probably not very EPZ friendly, but I like this kind of stuff, just don't usually see it!!

RAW ISO 100

Have also uploaded the original JPEG for you to compare with.

Strong colours and more importantly for me, not looking over-processed

Thanks you 2, and the silent clickers! Much appreciated, as it's not my usual fare, so glad it appeals to someone other than me!

Great find, love peering down odd alleys! Like the processed version as you've removed the overpowering yellow cast on the original

Thank you.
I know Paul, but I'm just crap at doing them, and end up making them worse. I have tried with this one but can't get them right.

Martin. A great image and a well worked end result. Just becasue you don't think it's epz friendly, doesn't mean you shouldn't post it for the rest of us to enjoy. Ref. Pauls comment, I think it just needs a slight rotation to the left.

Cheers, Ian.

The processing to get the rustic feel and the blue sky makes the shot Martin.

So well seen and taken, Martin. Blimey, that's some process you followed...but the results were worth it.

EDIT: Love the tabs. Smile

Strewth, well lost following that!! I cant help feeling that Paul is right though with the angles, is it possibly the road that slopes between the walls. Even so, love the result and good to see you spotting something a little different Smile

Thanks Martin. I know Paul is right about the verticals, and now when I look at them I cringe!! Glad you like the shot though, means a lot.
