It was taken at iso800 and it is more to do with correctly exposing the shot. I then carefully apply many levels of noise reduction.

Ok! i was hoping you would say it was the full frame sensor so i would have a good excuse to upgrade 
I'm loving these aurora shots...hope I will be able to see it again soon. yannis
