.....But a rather nice one I hope you'll agree.
Well I've just got home from another morning down the hide and that woodpecker is driving me nuts.....We've been trying every trick we know to try and entice him away from the back of the peanut feeder so as to get a decent clutter free shot of him, but he's having none of it...grrrrr Smile He seems to know that when the hide window is open to hide behind the cage feeders.....I'll keep trying though I'm sure I'll nail him sooner or later. We had a nice Sparrowhawk show today, unfortunately neither Sue or myself managed to get a shot of him.....Too fast even for me.
Thanks to everyone who's kindly commented of my previous uploads.....Ade

Have to agree it's a "good 'un".
Great sharp image with good DOF ensuring the complete bird is in focus.
Well taken.

Nice one Ade,lovely detail & dof.
Have you tried removing the nut hanger & replacing it with some crunchy peanut butter smeared on a branch...works for mine, trouble being I don't have the camera ready at the right time for them !

lovely shot
- try a very thick sticky mixture of peanut butter and chopped peanuts spread on the side of an upright branch JUST out of shot for the woodpecker - once they have tasted it you can "guide" them to pose where you want as mine prefer it to straight peanuts in the feeder.

Thanks again for all your help this morning

Done all that, this li'l beggar only feeds on the feeder and point blank refuses to come out from behind it.....I've done for a whole jar of peanut butter trying to tempt him to perch elsewhere.....grrrr
