would not have bored you with this one so soon after previous upload if he had not turned up in the right light and sat so well.

i know some bird-togs on here are less mobile than others so take this as an idea of what you can do... moved this log relatively close to the front of the house (my office) so i can now work until i hear the woodpecker call and then simply shoot through the (open) window. occasionally i hang a camo net from the upper window catch mechanism - take seconds to hang and remove

Lovely bird nicely captured.

Clever you to devise this workaround. Unfortunately the best species we ever get in our back yard are Sparrows, Dunnocks, Starlings (my favourites) and if I remember to put dog kibble out, Crows.
