Wonderful shots Carol, in v1 the shape of the moth is like one of those stylised angels. The detail and pose in v3 is almost intimidating. Excellent stuff.

3 great shots and again an interesting, handsome beastie.

With the shape of the wings it is more like a butterfly than a moth. Good close-up work.

Beautiful wings, I like all three poses!

And if Ade can't identify it he'll have to name it after you.

Think I've cracked it, well you know I don't like being beaten Grin I'm 95% sure it's a variation of one of the many Carpet Moths/Geometers, probably specific to your area of the world. I found several similar species but nothing quite the same, however this might be down to the colour balance of the image and the fact it was probably taken with flash......Sorry I can't be more specific......I bleed'in hate it when you throw me a curve ball Tongue

I thought you'd outfoxed the Big O at first but I should have known that the old buzzard would find out what it was in the end!Smile A terrific set of close ups Carol, not surprised to see you carpet so many votes already. I'd be very careful if I were you, it looks like the Big O has converted you to the dark side, you will know that there is no turning back if you wake up tomorrow morning craving cider and speaking with a West Country accent!Tongue

A very good set, Carol, 1 & 3 are real beauties though. v1 is an excellent composition especially with the shadow, and v3 is very imposing, almost intimidating.
