OK, it seems this guy is quite popular so here's another shot from the series I did on Sunday at the botanical gardens.

He was looking very cautious here, and rightly so because a few minutes later we saw him fighting with a Southern Red Bishop who was nesting in the reeds nearby and didn't want new neighbours!

The sharpest point is at the eye - exactly where it should be. If it were mine, I would prefer the bird a little smaller in the frame, and given more room on the right hand side to look into, but I'm nitpicking. This is a super shot.

great shot! that's the masked weaver isn't it? It's funny you say it had a set to with a Bishop - I've seen them nesting together quite harmoniously and I've had weavers and bishops feeding together as well. We have a few weaver shots but nothing like this one - well done, love the clarity.
