Bright sunny day, water levels quite low so this must be in the midst of an hot summer ?

No, this was yesterday 1st March 2012 and I think you can probably see where the water level line usually reaches on the control tower and dam wall.
Looking at my position on the map will also give an indication that the water is lower than it should be ! !

According to South East Water's website for the 1st March the Present capacity was 2372 million litres with the Full capacity being 5206 million litres so the reservoir was only 45.5 % full.

There is a public car park ( currently 1 fee ) and toilets with wonderful walks around the shore of the reservoir and nearby countryside and up into Ardingly itself.

Water sports such as yachting / canoeing take place on the reservoir and there are also a couple of hides for bird watching so a great place for trip out with the camera Smile

Certainly doesn't bode well. Good composition and bit of photojournalism. Nicely done.

That really shows how desperate the levels are Jeff, I think a hosepipe ban is imminent.. well here in Kent anyway! Bewl Water is looking pretty much the same.
