A break from macros. Thank goodness I hear you say!! Took this shot a few days ago but thought I would play around with it in iphoto to give it a 'bygone era' look. I was struck by the silhouettes of the people and thought this could have been taken years ago. The flag pole breaks across the horizon lines but that's how it was so didn't feel it would be right to change it.

I agree with all your opening remarks up top, Paul: it could be an image from times past ( the folk are far enough away for us to be unable to see them all clutching their mobile phonesWinkWink.
And that flag pole is an integral part of the pier assembly now, so it's best left unclosed.
Ronnie.

Strong silhouettes, and the presentation could easily be Edwardian (you're not that old are you Grin). A vertical amongst mainly horizontals can serve to pull them together.

A very appealing landscape with the beautiful light and gentle colour
making a perfect b/ for those fabulous silhouettes.
I like the little pool breaking the dark f/g and the sandbank line extending
from the pier works well with the calm waters.

The flag post leads the eye to the sun rays. Truly beautiful.
