....falling off a log. This little fella, warm and cozy in its dark glass case, seemed to have trouble maintaining its balance.

Circumstances were not in your favour: through glass and a rather dark interior, but you managed to get a pretty creditable shot of this reptile.
Indeed it doesn't look too secure and about to slide off it's log perch.

As Ronnie says the circumstances were far from being in your favour so a good capture Ray with texture and detail
