"Ashridge II - Return to the Forest". This time it's personal - well, not really, but they are taken a bit closer .
The almost-luminescent colours and light in this forest were amazing. I'm not sure I've done them justice with these two images.
Many thanks for your time and appreciation of my brief sojourn to pseudo-France aka Brewery Square, London, SE1 for my last upload "La Vie en Rose". I really do enjoy your comments and banter.
Some much needed rain in London today but I shan't get wet in Sainsburys!! Enjoy your day,
I love V2. You can almost touch those leaves.
V2 has such lovely light. Carole

Love the lighting in these. Some time ago I heard a very famous landscape photography say that he always tried to not include bits of sky coming through trees, in shots like these. Something I always try to do. With #2, those bits of sky are distracting from the true beauty of the shot.
Two superb shots, gorgeous light and colours, I have a very slight preference for V2
Very nice Autumn image well captured.
Mysterious ,,,,, Lovely
You get 'panned' for using a phrase like 'nice light' but the quality of light here is exceptional in both images. The two images are simple almost inconsequential and really are little more than vehicles for presenting such beautiful poetry of light. (Which is why I really can't choose between them).
Dave, you have shown us all that a picture is painted light. V2 is the sublime of that. Magic. WesternRed.
got to be v2 for me today a real stunner top shot
I really like what you have done with the light in both images making the leaves almost dance in the sun. IB
Beautiful shots. Think I would have to vote for the classic simplicity of V2.
Lovely light in both............Sandy
Both great shots, I confess to liking V1, but only by a narrow margin.
We lived in Bovingdon for may years and I played golf at Berkhamstead so I know the area quite well, as you can imagine. I was a missionary , being a Yorkshireman .
Two superbly captured images here, both as appealing as each other.
I really love V1, the composion is great, the light is wonderful, you made the tree "alive", it seems that it 'talks' to me...I'm not mad.. Great work!, Beautiful light on V2.
You have controlled the light in difficult conditions, no burn out and detail in the shadow, excellent captures, V1 for me by a whisker.
excellent light in both shots, I have been out taking colour pics myself today managed a few before the rain set in
Lovely tones in those leaves.
Fabulous colour in those leaves! V1 for me
Excellent light and framing on both, V1 for me tho
V 1 is my favourite shot: love the balance between brightly lit and deeply shadowed areas.
DAve..I absolutely love the dappled light in V1 - you can feel a real crispness in the air
Lovely light and composition
Two different images and I love them both! Autumn at its best. Hope Sainsburys was funnnn!
V2 for me today but both are good - lovely light and color. A

Hello dear friend, I do agree with Ronnie, this is really an excellent shot.
2 good images Dave - definitely v2 for me - the light on the leaves is just excellent against the dark b/g.
Two excellent shots very well taken well done..........
Again, your getting lovely lighting on your subject, excelent job.
This is a great capture/composition/image,well done.......and yes you are right the vapour trail is distracting,i think a crop is in order. Many thanks for the vote and taking the time to comment, best wishes Craig.
v2 for me - wonderful light
Both so bright and beautiful! Well done!
