"Ashridge II - Return to the Forest". This time it's personal - well, not really, but they are taken a bit closer
.
The almost-luminescent colours and light in this forest were amazing. I'm not sure I've done them justice with these two images.
Many thanks for your time and appreciation of my brief sojourn to pseudo-France aka Brewery Square, London, SE1 for my last upload "La Vie en Rose". I really do enjoy your comments and banter.
Some much needed rain in London today but I shan't get wet in Sainsburys!! Enjoy your day,
Dave

Love the lighting in these. Some time ago I heard a very famous landscape photography say that he always tried to not include bits of sky coming through trees, in shots like these. Something I always try to do. With #2, those bits of sky are distracting from the true beauty of the shot.
Two superb shots, gorgeous light and colours, I have a very slight preference for V2
Hugh
You get 'panned' for using a phrase like 'nice light' but the quality of light here is exceptional in both images. The two images are simple almost inconsequential and really are little more than vehicles for presenting such beautiful poetry of light. (Which is why I really can't choose between them).
Great work...
Dave, you have shown us all that a picture is painted light. V2 is the sublime of that. Magic. WesternRed.
Two superbly captured images here, both as appealing as each other.
Carol
Hi Dave
You have controlled the light in difficult conditions, no burn out and detail in the shadow, excellent captures, V1 for me by a whisker.
Regards
Trev.
excellent light in both shots, I have been out taking colour pics myself today managed a few before the rain set in![]()
Quote: V 1 is my favourite shot: love the balance between brightly lit and deeply shadowed areas.
Ronnie.
Hello dear friend, I do agree with Ronnie, this is really an excellent shot.
Samar..
