At last I have found some wildlife in the garden Smile I ventured out yesterday, in a howling gale, not expecting to find anything whatsoever, but in a sheltered spot I have a small bamboo, and perched on one of the leaves was this pretty little shield bug.

How very obliging, posing for you in a howling gale, Carol: it has quite a pepper pot pitted surface the detail of which you have captured so well.
Of this quartet, V 2 and 4 are my favourites.
Ronnie.

I am always amazed how these small creatures cope with the weather in general. Perhaps we are just great big wimps ! You're getting the reputation as the local portrait photographer, that's why they appear as and when they do. And a very, very good one too Smile I like all of them.

I do like the way you compose these, I've said it before but your bugs always seem to be exploring the frame with their legs and antennae.

Nice to find some wildlife Carol. The ground is frozen solid here, and with the snow the red underwings have made their appearance, eating the coteneaster berries as a last resort!
I wonder how many varieties of shield bug there are ,ours are usually shades of green.Well persevered nice shots as usual.
