Another one from this season's autumn collection (does that make me sound as if I'm about to present my latest catwalk collection???): I liked the horizontal beech branch acting as a counterpoint to verticals.
My thanks to all who commented on Heron and to Gary {gary_d} for his User Award.
Ronnie.

My very thoughts too, Ronnie. The leaves runs along that lower third v. Nicely and the scene is a riot of colour. Lovely image.

Beautiful Autumn scene Ronnie, lovely colours,
Fred.
Great comp. I think Beech make my top favourite woodland scene. Something special about their colours, the light through their branches and of course, all those lovely, crunchy leaves lying beneath!! Guess they'll not be over "crunchy" given the present weather though
Sorry I had to look in so late/early. Have had no Internet most of yesterday. Weather related, perhaps
Ann

Not only a counterpoint, Ronnie, but it ties the verticals together in a tight composition. Beautiful colours as well.

That low branch is just perfect Ronnie, it cuts the tall trees in just the right place. Great image and nicely presented.
