Hi Folks,

hope life is finding you all well Smile
Apologies for my absence of late, I'm doing the three peak challenge in August, so out walking almost constantly to get some semblance of fitness!!

I went away to Centre Parcs last week & escaped to Avebury on Thursday.

Away from the more obvious Stones there, in the backfield you will find these huge sarsens.
There is a theory that the diamond shaped stones represent the "female " & the upright stones (for more obvious reasons) represent the male.
In this instance, the two main sarsens almost look to be in conversation with each other from certain angles!
This photo taken with a polariser as per Carpers advice Smile

Anyone with an interest in Avebury, Alexander Keiller,Archaeology, or paganism, could do a lot worse than read the time slip novel "The Buried Circle".... in fact, I;d highly recommend doing so...an excellent and informative read.

Take care everyone, I'm at STONEHENGE for the SPRING EQUINOX on Tuesday & Wednesday, so catch up later in the week Smile

Gareth

Nice image Gareth glad yer back ! I like the effect on the sky and stone is that purely polariser or have you been up to some witchcraft ??
Btw iam getting some books on Paganism from a friend at work as I have decided if iam going to adhere tae a religion it might as well be "Mother Earth" as iam a bona-fida tree hugger anyway GrinGrinGrin

Hey, you are back!
It reminds me of a line in the great move "Dances with wolves" which goes something like this....
"....and the guy in the west is probably thinking, "why isn't he writing?" " Smile

Well, that are different colours! That polariser filter does has it's uses in adding a sort of ,special effect, to the picture.
I haven't thought of using the filter in this way but I can see myself getting my pl filter out of the bag and wipe the yearlong gathered dust of it to give it a try again.
Nicely done my friend.
