Avro Lancaster at Shuttleworth "Military Pageant" Air Show June 2013, Old Warden, Bedfordshire
The Lancaster was an evolution of the troublesome Avro Manchester & was designed by Roy Chadwick
The Bomber was powered by 4 Roll Royce Merlin engines
Notable mission was the Dambuster raid on the Ruhr Valley Germany
using the famous "Barnes Wallace"bouncing bombs.

Thank you all for C&Cs on my previous upload "F-86 Sabre" much appreciated

Well captured, three great images - an uncle of mine was a rear gunner in one of these, the plane came back, but his bit was missing

At night in the fog, police stopped a car that was driving very fast: - Sir, if you drive so fast, you will kill someone!
- You know, young people - a military man, that was sitting behind the wheel, said wearily, - every night I kill tens of thousands of people...
In the car was sitting commander of the Royal Air Force Bomber Arthur Harris, and British four-engined bomber Avro Lancaster was helper for marshal in his sorrowful labors...
Such is the sad story ...
Excellent set!
Regards Valery

Cant afford such luxuries as flying beside aircraft to take photos
Yesterday I went to Duxford & found it possible to fly beside a flying Spitfire in a De Havailand Dragon Rapid
for about 15 minutes to take photos----The cost £400
