A full frame capture of the Avro Triplane replica, flying during an Evening Flying Session at the Shuttleworth Collection, Old Warden, on a warm, windless evening in July. This lovely old aircraft featured in the film "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines". I believe the original first flew in 1911.

Many thanks for your support of my last upload, with a special thank you to Moira(moiral) and Ray(Ray42) for their User Awards. All very much appreciated and valued Smile

That is an unusual looking bird Sylvia, I can't seem to be able to find this one in my RSPB handbook, perhaps it is a rare foreign migrant!WinkGrin

You'd wonder how it could fly. Great image.

Great Avro Triplane image from Shuttleworth Collection, Old Warden
I know the weather has to be almost perfect for the very old "Edwardian Planes" to fly
This venue is a great place for photos as the distance between the planes & the crowd is relatively close, compared to other Air Shows
