I do not normally go for a limited d.o.f. on my shots, but I have here.
Perhaps it is all these lensbaby shots I see on the site that is having an influence !!
The limited DOF does help focus the eye on the spot where the break is, Mick. Just hope this is not on your own property.
Great rusty holey image................Sandy
Reminds me of the front wing on my old Vauxhall Viva, great selective focus Mick. - gary
Good focus right where it counts!
Cracking shot Mick, great pov and composition, and I do like the limited dof.
Great DoF and superb texture!
Excellent focus color and texture. Nice image. it's working for you. A
limited dof grott mick whatever next? a cracking take have a great weekend
I like this Mick - makes the focus area really jump out - Helen
Too much epz makes your eyes go funny??
I'm wondering what's going on inside that hole...
Was the baby boom:
(a) the opposite of the big boom,
(b) a companion of Northern Rock,
(c) the place where the phone hackers broke through,
(d) the result of the big bang?
The public needs to know!!!
P.S.: A canny bit of lens work there, Mick
Excellent DOF Mick! It certainly makes this shot work so well!
This is a most enjoyable shot.....and I love your title.
Is that a little something emerging there too Mick!
so much rust ...you must have been in your element with this to show what part
I think it works a treat! Very nice macro and nicely composed too. So, when is the Baby arriving
From the thumnail I was convinced this was a piece of wood. Should have known better shouldn't I?! Serious bit of rust and rot to make a piece peel away like this. The limited DoF works really well with diagonal comp.
'Superb DOF, color, tones, details, & composition in the image frame'...Peter
I do think there is a sall fracture in the pipe Mick. Have you Noticed?.. can you clone it out?
You are going to have problems welding that back together, Mick
Did you forget to check the camera settings so this dof thingy is a lucky accident?
Good thick rust.
A fine piece of dof it is too Mick. Great subject matter here. I love the gaping hole right where the plug once filled one.
Loads of lovely flaky bits in it, I would sit and pick at these . Think the shadow of the spout looks like a body and head, well it does if you twist your head a bit. A bit like my brain - twisted and flaky . Did think it was a branch from the thumbnail. Moira
that is proper rust mick, must have taken lots of years to get through .Dont need a lens baby ,enough turn out blurred as it is.
Hard work for plumbers... One of your best! IB
It must have taken an awful lot of care to screw that tapered nut into such a decrepit thread, Mick . Excellent attention to detail.
Great use of DOF here Mick great control makes the eye focus on the most interesting part of the image with the help of that diagonal composition.
You must teach me the secret of rust hunting lol.
Love the krusty grunge Mick
Well the shallow dof was an absolute rust .... er I mean must, here Mick - it focusses the attention nicely on that wonderful piece of flaky, decrepit, corroded grot. Great shot. Go on, go and buy a Lensbaby - you know you want to .
Excellent texture and use of DoF Mick
phew! for a moment I thought it was a LB shot!
be warn, it gives addiction
Have to agree - one of your best!
