Thanks for all the votes yesterday

This image is from a sequence taken of mating Large Blue (Maculinea arion) butterflies, perched on the larval food plant, Wild Thyme (Thymus polytrichus).

Even in June last year the weather was not wonderful but on the breeding site at Collard Hill, a few reasonable days gave a good breading season for these rare butterflies.
