Taken from inside, this is one of the walls of the bamboo house in the rainforest biome at the Eden Project. For all the heat in this biome, when you enter this little building, the shade provides an immediate sense of escape from the heat, if not an actual drop in temperature Smile

V2 is an almost identical shot, but with a shift of focus. I can't decide which I prefer, so I'd appreciate your views. Mods are on so if you have any suggestions for improvements I'd love to see them Smile

Thanks for your interest in my stained glass images from Buckfast Abbey . Your support is always so appreciated. Thanks too for popping by today - any comments will be very welcome.

V1 for me definitely - those hard dark verticals centre/right work with the contrast of light and shadow. And I want those beads in focus.
Beautifully seen, this has so much atmosphere.

Thanks Devlin, Barbara, Carol and Moira. An evenly divided opinion so far! Moira mentioned the 'beads in focus' - this was the decider for me to have V1 as the lead image.

I've been back and forth across these several times. Think V1 for me because I want to see all the detail inside the hut. V2 with the focus closer stops me from seeing all I want to. I've not explained that very well but I hope you get the gist!? This must be new? Don't remember seeing a hut we could go in on our last trip. Will have to go back!

Barbara, I'm not sure - despite living only 30 miles away, we haven't been back since our first trip in 2002, a year after it opened!

V1 is my choice as well. The beads are so different from the shades that they beg to be in focus. Beautiful colors, and I like your imaginative composition.

So well seen Theresa, those strips of textured fabric and the light coming through makes a fabulous image. Wonderful colour and the beads just finish it off......V1 for sure...........Sandy

I am preferring the v1, higher f-stop, depth-of-field image, for several reasons, Theresa. First off, the 'eye is easily led into the picture,' by the lovely light on the bamboo, spanning the right side of the image frame. There is 'no hesitation of my eye,' when looking at v1. When visualizing the shallow DOF, v2, my eye, "is momentarily halted," on the focused & detailed deep pink cloth on the left, and I 'am forced to see,' the rest of the right side of the image frame. In other words, the 'magical effect of the beautiful light,' is lost, because it lies outside of the plane-of-focus. Just a different effect, very nice,...but not as good as v2. Just some of my thoughts, Theresa. Hope that my input is helpful to You.
Regards...Peter

This is lovely Theresa - gorgeous colours and tones - and love the lines. I prefer V1 but only because I always look left to right - but I would happily settle for either. They would make a great abstract on a wall - big and bold. Beautiful.
