This is Beech that has been badly pruned and developed a woody growth. I would be interested if anyone
knows the scientific name for this type of growth? There were quite a lot of these trees that were suffering these growths and the only thing they have in common is their proximity to a barbed wire fence and the fact that they have all been "butchered" at some point.
