From what looked like an interesting sunset developing, turned out to be a bit disapointing, however, decided to explore the opportunity that the only remaining mining gear in Barnsley had to offer, Always wanted to get some photo's of it to see how i could present them, but not had chance. Any idea's would be most welcome! The buildings underneath the ironwork offer very little as the windows are bricked up, and there is spray paint on the walls.

The sky makes a lovely backdrop for the strong silhouette.

Great shot Jody, as an ex miner myself I think you have captured the spirit of this once great industry. Well done.
You ask for other suggestions and mention the rather poor condition of the site or pit top as it would be called- well,
use that- make it tell a story and blend the images together into a compo- just an idea. If you want inspiration then visit
afew of the old workings which are now mining museums, or use the old fashioned approach - chat to miners Smile

A simply superb shot and a scene I grew up with it in view.

My Grandfather did 54 years underground at Hatfield Main, Stainforth.
