Be it never so humble there's no place like home.
A bus stop, Boulevard Beaumarchais, Paris. A mattress, a suitcase, a scooter. A mother and her child.
Please remember those who are less fortunate than we are.
Wishing everyone here, Pete, the ePHOTOzine staff and all the members, a very happy, peaceful Christmas.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Sadly you see situations like this more often these days Moira.
Well seen and taken.
Best wishes for XMAS and the new year.
Ken.
ps, I knew you'd appreciate version 7 of my upload. There's several similar ones that adorn part of the City hall in Cardiff of which this one is my favourite.
A very poignant message, one that I certainly can relate to Moira.
I hope that you Bill and family have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Furthermore I would like to thank you for all you're caring comments and messages throughout the year.

A cause close to my heart - as you know well.
There's so much in this captured moment in time. The juxtapositions: obsessions with keeping age lines at bay while others struggle to stay alive, to eat, to stay warm; the people on the "other side of this life (I take it this is a bus stop?). The suitcase to the side, and that little scooter I especially find heart wrenching.
We keep googletalk open throughout these two days so we can reach out to mother during this season, which always feels especially lonely for those who live alone.

Wow, I'm back again after a day's cooking, I needed a pick-me-up! Thanks everyone and particular thanks to Willie, for his UA.
I'll get the odd few minutes here over the next few days but at the moment family comes first! Have a wonderful day tomorrow folks,
Moira

Ralph McTell singing Streets of London immediately came to mind......Steve
it is the add in the window which is the cherry on the cake
This makes you reliaze how fortunate we are, it speaks volumes. I hope you had a good Chritmas and may you have a happy New year.

Every picture tells a story, and this one is heartbreaking. Sylvia
I always wait with interest to see what you will upload as a thought provoking image for Christmas.
This one was taken in a different season which is an excellent reminder that homelessness is a year round reality for so many and not just something for us to think about at Christmas time

A very thought provoking street scene and appropriate seasonal message Moira
An organisation I belong to is looking to start a food bank locally this year, and we also concerned about the effects of the 'bedroom tax' - a lot of single people and couples getting their benefits cut when there simply aren't any smaller, cheaper units available. It's frightening and depressing in equal measures.
