I spotted a few baby shield bugs recently, hiding in the seed-heads of wild sage. Most of them looked like replicas of their parents, but a few I spotted were like litte fluff-balls
This fella was tiny, about half the size of my little finger nail, so I was lucky to see him, let alone capture him on camera.

Awesome detail in these close ups Carol, he certainly is a hairy little critter
Another super set of well detailed macros Carol,
Fred.
fabulous set yet again
cant believe how tiny they are
so the hair leaves as they grow older ... how interesting
superb capture. love that you got the light behind them showing their transparency and highlighting the fine hairs. just great composition / positioning.
Love them all carol! Again your macro photography stands out!
Regards
Trev.
Well captured giving you three great shots. V2 is my favourite because of the underside detail.

He's a very hairy little chap! It's amazing how you spot these creatures when they're so small. Brilliant work, Carol ![]()

If an insect like this can be called a fluffy bundle then this is one![]()
great images
I have seen many different types of shield bugs but never knew they were hairy when young.
as the good old saying goes.......
learning something new every day.
