lovely picture. and i love where the tatoo is. great shot
A brilliantly taken shot, nice tattoo as well.
Great work! Lighting - positioning etc - Honestly!
smashing picture, and a really nice PF. I like your style.
Have to disagree with the comments made. Looked at your pf and think you have far stronger images than this. The lighting is very harsh round the edges of the model and in some places detail is lost. subjects head is positioned in a way that you can see her ageing neck and i feel that with a bit more imagination and more thought in to creating softer lighting you could have created a far more flattering image. james
That sounds very 'age-ist' James, this lady is obviously very proud of her body and its great to see a more mature model. The lighting makes it stand out from other similar shots and I think it works.
Love the ink too
I think the contrasty lighting works well... the gallery is full of soft lighting portraits... this is nice... and she looks incredible.. I would'nt be able to confidently put an age on her (or want to) and think your miles off the mark with "ageing neck"... what tosh James.
I agree the lighting is quite harsh: but better that than not taking the shot.
Just stumbled across this image and the comments above .. and just wanted to note that personally I liked the shot a lot. It has a really nice candid feel to it and although youve obviosuly had to boost the ISO it certainly hasnt harmed the shot.
The lost detail is of NO CONSEQUENCE ... its backlit and of course detail will be lost in shooting the correct exposure on the bride. To suggest otherwise is nonsense.
This is a style of photography I like and its the type of shot I would have taken myself. As for the age of the bride .. who cares .. she looks great. I dont find the neck 'ageing' either .. she clearly keeps herself in good shape and what James calls 'ageing' i call low body fat.
Thanks for your comments both good and bad. It is interesting that the 'age' of this bride has been questioned, her daughters who were in their 20's were standing behind me when I took the image. I think she looks absolutely beautiful. I had 10 seconds to get the shot - Weddings do not always allow the time to reshoot to get it perfect, I was really happy with the image. She was a fab character who was willing to do this kind of set-up and I think she will be really happy with the results. Thanks again. Hannah
I think this is a very good shot Hannah. As you say at weddings you have to take opportunities as they arise and 10secs is sometimes a luxury in grabbing a shot.
I agree with Dans comments, the loss oof detail in the overexposed areas do not detract from the subject as she is so strong. You can tell she is older, but nothing negative, in my view, to emphasise it.
Oo-er... I'll bet the groom went to bed the night before wearing a pair of boxing gloves...
