Came across this old tree and though that even in death it presented a certain beauty, providing life, food and shelter to so many other creatures it was still a sad sight.

I guess or hope that this wood will be soon in bloom with bluebells Cal?
Such a shame this old tree has been left to rot, but as you say protection and a home to many..
well composed, but maybe a little more contrast?
Lillian

I will take your advice on board Lillian and reshoot it next time im that way. My intention was to use a tripod and "experiment" with settings, so I trawled down the wood with camera and tripod only to reliase after I had set it all up that the tripod plate was on my big lens back in my truck so I took it handheld. Looks like a faster shutter speed may have been in order.
Thanks again for your comment, indeed thanks to all who have taken the time to comment.
Regards
Cal
