OK It is striking for a front cover, I have been looking at it in PS and have to say a red filter mono (which neutralises the lips tonaly) and gives it an almost IR glow to the skin tones works a treat... it can also be very effectively combined with an overlay layer to lift the colour version too.

yes, thought it had to be col... hence the mono was really a first stage to the col mod.

Cracking image Diana, very strong comp and lovely skin tones................but if I put my judges head on I feel it would be improved by only having one catch light in each eye

Any Good? To answer that question properly, we would need more detail about the purpose of the picture. For example what is the magazine/paper? what is the story? Does editorial need to be fitted in? To your question 'Any good?' I would have to ask back , Any good for what?

V2 for me as it's for a front page, the lighter tones will allow for print over if required, if not it is the more striking graphically.

I tried two mods ( I only read afterwards you wanted colour ) and lightened the skin tones and increased the contrast. This I did using levels, curves and blending modes. You may or may not like them or think them relevant to your purpose.

V2 has more impact imo.

Excellent portrait by the way.

Alan.

like them both, but i think #2 as it just feels a bit more edgy
