The Beech plantation in the grounds of Leeds castle was planted following the destruction of many ancient Beeches during the Great Storm of '87. Late Autumn is the perfect time to shoot this small grove. The ground is littered with golden leaves and the branches are just holding onto their foliage but not enough to prevent the sunlight streaking through.

Beech trees are so beautiful in autumn, as you say - but I also love the way these groves are planted in that pleasing pattern. But I wonder when you took this as there are still some green leaves on the trees. In any event, it's a lovely image with good light.
Ann
The light in the distance gives a lovely depth, Derek. Great patterns and colour as already stated. Lovely image.
Dave
An excellent image for a very large print, wall size would be good. Here's another wee tree to go with it.
Dougie
Thank you Ann, Andy, Anna and Dave. An extra big thankyou to Dougie for the UA. Your 'wee tree' is very much appreciated.
Quote: Nice work, Mr. H!
It's a shame they had to be planted in rows. A random distribution would look more natural.
Thank you Jools. I tried to break up the rows as much as possible but wasn't competely successful.
