Apparently. Something to do with body/weight ratios and the size of their wings and aerodynamics and stuff.
Personally, I think they do it rather well!

I thought the first was great, this one's even better! Such a cute little bee, and you can see his wings clearly.
I like the composition, with the space at the bottom. Makes it look nice and spread out.
another great capture, superb detail well captured.
Wings spot on - well done. I love that scarlet poppy.
Single flower - single bee. So clear and bright. Spot on. J
"Not sure about the new look!"
If you are not, I am!
(In fact, I was just about to ask you if that was you. Serious.
Its good that I read your bio info before asking!)
Angela, you look young, modern and attractive.
Expression is fresh and pleasant; hair-style is fine too.
Even the gesture, the way how you touch hair is a winner.
Im glad youve decided on this change!
One thing to add- your smile
BTW, how has Jeff accepted this?
Oh, the photo.
All your photos are first class, this one no exception.
Very well caught, great image
LOL---Maybe it is the poppy that is flying-- The red gives Me a BUZZ!
This is a stunning shot.
Love the detail of his wings.
You should be really proud of this, and the last one, too. Personally, preferred the other one.
Thought I'd gone into the wrong pf until George mentioned the NEW LOOK!!!
Lovely comp..super colour.
Angela guess they do better then me because no matter how hard i flap my arms i'm still stuck walking, lol! angela beautiful flight capture and into the red flower!
Another fine capture
Well, yiou have these four forces acting on an object in fllight: Thrust, Drag, Lift and . . .
Whoops! More than 3 words in that sentence. If you think photography is complicated, try aerodynamics. I didn't.
Nice pic, love the colours. Poppies are so delicate for a large flower.
Sorry I deleted the pic you commented on; it lost a lot in the upload, so I wound up the saturation and reposted it.
George! You have me blushing!
Thanks for all the lovely comments, both on the pic and on the new look! Took a bit of nerve, I'm not one for hairdressers and 'messing about' with my hair... We'll see how it goes now I've got it home!
Ooo... Tony... try running really fast at the same time. Might help... or not... Never did as a kid, and that must be the last time I tried!
Pamelajean... Must admit, I prefur the first. His knickers are in better focus. Think I might've had some subject movement... (Really??)
Hi Chris... If the gravity input is reduced by the force nessessary... You think I haven't a qualification in quantum physics and aerodynamics?... Well... Ok, so I haven't! Glad you liked it anyway!
Gorgeous vibrant colour and good detail. Perfect timing!
Beautiful picture - favourite flower and insect all in one shot! Thank you for your advice and kind words, Sarah x
