Golden oldies weekend on the great central railway gave me the opportunity to take some shots of these wonderful machines. Just love steam locomotives they have real character.

An impressive locomotive.

The light may have been against you to some extent, - the image is good, but can do with a little more contrast and sharpening. You settings look good also.

Loaded a mod to show what I mean.

Regards

Willie

Potentially a very fine image and could well look good in dark sepia. You are shooting in manual, but the exposure is a bit out - over by about a stop I would say. I would darken the whole image a bit, tweak the contrast upwards then run the burning in tool down the left side a bit.

a couple of mods added. You have a fine semi pro camera there and you are using manual - all good stuff. It might be worth investing in a hand meter if you are prepared to use manual - it would pay off.

Hi John,
The train's not hovering like the Tern, is it?? Wink. John all good advice from above but you know me from the gull mod, I like to give things a bit of room. All i've done is enlarge the canves and add more sky and a few very slight colour adjustments. Grin

Pf's coming on nicely.
