Newcastle wildlife got wilder before Christmas. Eldon Square shopping mall was invaded by a herd of elephants. They seemed puzzled by their new surroundings.
Thanks to Alan (whatriveristhis) for prodding me to photograph them. Generally I didn't find them photogenic as they lacked proper faces, except for this one.
This is wildlife photography that I can get on with, a subject that stays still for the camera. I have a couple more vaguely related uploads to come.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

I couldn't find a picture that was even a quarter as good as yours. You're so good at this sort of thing, Moira.

Great, looks really whacky! The guy on the right doesn't seem too impressed - he is the perfect foil for this stylised ele!

Thanks again for the award, Moira; great to have!

When I was at school Moira,
I actually wanted to be a zoo keeper.
I changed my mind when I went to the zoo and saw the mess the keepers had to clean up after the elephants !!
Might have been a different story had the elephants been like this one !!
Mick.

I thought it was the front of a train too!! Phew...glad to know I wasn't going crazy. Although the night is young.

'Startled' is definitely the word for this perplexed pachyderm. Perhaps he was away on safari and couldn't believe the prices when he got back.

This was originally quite puzzling and I first thought it was an underground train having been given a makeover. On second glance I can see it.
Very nicely done with the moving figures.
