Great job - I'm not sure I'd have the patience to perserver! If you fancy another go - try and get the whole splash - feel free to swear at me!
Edward
The thing that suprises me is just how little noise you have. You must have shot at ISO 100? The lighting and focus are spot on too. I have to agree with Edward - if you havn't gone totally loopy doing this, another 200 - 300 shots should get the whole splash zone ![]()

Excellent! Well worth the effort.
Have to agree that it may be more effective with the whole splash in there.
Great work though!
Don't agree with Keith, although I see where he is coming from. The sharpness of the apple is not issue to me. The lovely ridge of water at the front of the frame is what makes it. Might have been nicer to see the full splash, but is great as it is.
Been thinking of trying a shot like this for ages. This has inspired me to have a proper go!

I guess the apple is fairly clean by now - after all that dunking!
I agree with the comments re including the whole of the splash in the frame. The slightly blurred look to the apple is puzzling as the ring of the splash is all in sharp focus and it was captured by flash. I can only guess that it is the illumination from the fluorescent lighting that has recorded the movement of the apple. Best to do this sort of thing in low light – if using a flash that is!
All that said – I still like it and have ‘clicked’.
I have lost count of the hours I have spent trying to perfect this type of shot to no avail, it looks like you've mastered it, like others have said it would have been nice to see the whole splash...but a fantastic image nonetheless.
This is Fantastic !! I like the grey type colour of the water, and you used half an apple... good thinking !!
Congrats on the EC too
