I took this picture to try to capture the motion as these bikers zooming past. They are the local "taxis" in Fujian China.

I don't know if it works.

Slow shutter speed while panning. A bit of a hit or miss technique...

Well you have captured the feeling of speed, But the biker is to blurred and there is not enough detail to say what he/she is.

Panning works well, With practice it becomes less hit or miss....Smile

Nice try, But back to the drawing board......!

The shutter speed it way to slow you need to put in up a bit to get the rider in focus and half the bike infocus to get that real sense of movment, th shutter speed that I would have used is 1/125th maybe, and a crop from the bottom of the image, to get some of that free space out of it.
