Experimenting with simple lighting, a small LED torch in a retort clamp, on a simple subject, in a simple format, with Manual settings & focus.
Admittedly, the instrument is in need of a good clean.

Quote: ....... for using such foul language as, ''in need of a good clean''
I'm sorry Mick. That was thoughtless and insensitive.
The darkness (lack of light) was intentional - to portray the sort of conditions in some of the clubs we used to play in. ![]()

I should have said that in the description, rather than now.
No. I'm afraid not Willie.
I originally took quite a few, then as they got nearer to what I was trying to achieve I deleted them.
Eventually finished with just two. I selected the best and dumped the other.
I am going to continue to experiment though, so in future, I will keep a selection of whatever I do, regardless of whichever I upload.
It looks about the way I envisaged it, on my PC screen Willie.
Despite the risk of alienating Mick ![]()
I'm annoyed with the fact that had I cleaned the section and bell, it would have looked better and reflected the light, the way I anticipated.
The light/darkness of the image is a difficult one.
It's almost 50 years since I played my clarinet in the university student clubs, before I lost the two fingers on my left hand.
But my recollection of them is dark, smokey and dingy places ~ great atmosphere and mostly splendidly appreciative audiences, and we never went short on beer, but not the sort of places you would take the vicar to ![]()

I'll be more explicit with the next upload.
As well as saving a selection.
Thanks for your time. Much appreciated
Back at the computer. I think it can look better with a little more exposure Jack. The keys need to have some sparkle with highlights blown to make it come alive, so a touch more exposure does it.
Loaded 3 versions, mono, duo tone, warming filter.
Try colour the next time, and you can expose to get some sparkle, and then used PS to reduce the brightness on the body if its overly bright for your liking.
Regards
Willie
