This image was made in Cornwall this year. I was trying to use the very hard and sharp nature of the rock to juxtapose the soft moving water against it. I find the contrast in these situations appealing; they are almost more than the sum of parts. I also particularly like the dark grey wet rocks texture against the foreground subtle colours. You can even see reds, browns and blues in there. I also like the subtle conditions I found myself in on this sunset shoot and the thin band of light on the horizon is almost understated. Honestly I was hoping for the sun to burst underneath it and illuminate the bottom of the clouds, but even though this didn’t happen I particularly like the contrast between the heavy clouds and stormy sea feel to this image. Anyway, this little part of the coast near Treyarnon bay I know rather well. I must have done about 100 sunsets over the years I’ve been going there, and I never tire of trying to make something new from it. Anyway, it will be interesting to see what you think…

My sort of image Jason. I like that contrast in texture and I particularly like the way that you have composed the image with the foreground rocks cradling the midground rock with the blurred waves around it. this is exactly the sort of shot I would be drawn to if I spotted it. just a shame that they dont get a better reception on EPZ.
