...a small lochan close to where I was staying on the north coast of Scotland.
A rather magical landscape superbly captured Dougie. The overhanging sky, and the wind swept lochan playing the leading roles in this great performance.

Lovely landscape excellently photographed ! Love the clouds and the heather in front - really a superb capture
More magic. You sure do pick 'em!
wonderful colour and light dougie brilliant comp love those clouds a cracker nice one
Beautiful with those dark clouds and love that bonnie heather in the front. A beautiful scene. Moira
Lots to keep you looking here Dougie, well composed
Another fine image from the far north with the heath and heather adding that nice touch of warmth on what I guess was a breezy day judging by the ripples on the lochan.
You don't produce many bad ones Dougie and this is no exception. Excellent.
looking good as ever....
It couldn't be anywhere else - a wonderful landscape Dougie and it looks very much like a loch which Christopher loves to fish nearby the crofthouse. I see from a comment on Bill's image that you're back up to the Highlands at the weekend. Fingers crossed for some lovely light and good weather!
High pressure showing on the Xc site, so fingers crossed for some decent light, Liathach is outside my bedroom window, the Loch is 40 feet away. Maybe some reflections with the high pressure, time will tell Ann, Thanks for your kind thoughts.
Lovely shot !!....that sky's gorgeous !!
Woderful! Love it
A considered composition and a well balanced exposure Dougie.
My grandchildren were up in Scotland a week ago, I could have told them to drop by I know my grandson initially was there for the wedding of family and after the event he sat relaxing by Loh Lomond - not the lock you posted today but I thought you might find this bit of useless info interesting Iain (grandson) was born in Benbecula Outer Hebrides and always has considered himself to be Scottish - I digress - looks like a good breeze on the water with the ripples Dougie I like the Heather in the foreground and that cracking sky, superb shot
Many separate ingredients carefully put together to make a beautiful whole.
Many years since I was north of the border, your portfolio makes me want to get back sometime.
Please don't close the border after 2014.
Well composed. Looks like a good day to be out for a walk.
black lochan and purple heather - a beauty!
A simple shot, but quite beautiful !!....you can almost reach in & touch that sky !!!!!
