A lovely series of this handsome bird.
He stands out well in V1 with those pink grasses.
With those long legs I guess he can get up quite a speed.

What a great looking bird John - It's incredible how he looks as though he is late for an appointment in v1 and is striding away. Great set as always, the detail and composition are outstanding.

Trying to capture the hidden detail such as beady eyes within such fine Black plumage is an extremely difficult craft to muster which you seemed to have done quite magnificently John. As you will clearly know through years of great photography John it is all about timing, light and using the right equipment. For those who of you who tire of seeing perfectly composed, captured and presented images of Birds, and become frustrated "like me" of trying to master this form of photography, here is some notes that I managed to find during a recent trawl on the www.

A tremendous set of images of this bird stepping out, perfectly exposed to retain the details in both the white and black plumage
