Manufactured ice or not this is still an extremely good image working well in portrait. Is it my eyes or does it need rotating ccw.

I love that ice jigsaw in the foreground, it's like crazy paving leading the eye towards the looming mountains. Great shot.

Very clever and very effective. I like it!

Thank you for your comments.

i forgot to put the details with it.

It was photographed through a blue filter and a graduated magenta to warm the clouds up a little.

The image is vertical. It is the visual effect of the lake being further away from the camera on the left side than the right side.

I was up in the lakes in autumn and failed to get any decent shots of Blea Tarn. Well done, great image.

Gorgeous shot, Dave. I love the effect of the filters and thanks for the details - I would never have considered using a magenta grad. Very strong composition. Even though the horizon is level, I'm probably like Gerwyn in that I turn my head to the right to view the photograph, but it doesn't take away the enjoyment at all.

Thanks DP. It was set up with a spirit level on the rear standard. Scanning may have offset it very slightly.

I like the effects of this shot. The tarn didn't look like this in late Sept.

I like it Dave, especially now I know the story behind it.
