I might of tried to get a little distance between top of gate and house rather than them blending in .Nice treatment.

Great potential here, I agree with Kim too. I like the title but the warm colours of the foreground don't help with the implied image. Might be more appropriate to the title if you convert it to mono or sepia.

I love the drama of this. One house, a tree and a gate - three objects to provide the triangle of interest and the bedrock of composition.

If you do go back ........... open the gate. An open gate psychologically invites you into the scene, a shut gate blocks you out. Opening the shot will bring the house into the gap and unify the scene
