I thought I would try a shot of the exit stream from Blea Tarn. Not such a cliched image as the last one...but then perhaps it's not as good a composition?
Comments, critiques and mods welcome.

Quote: the only thing I think I would change, would be to clone out the foliage at the top of the image.
Thanks Sarah - I was in two minds about that myself.
The foliage at the top frames it a little for me but it doesn't half show up the CA...unless you introduced it through trying to darken the area during post production?
Colours seem a bit on the strong side too and it really needed a bit of sky rather than the expanse of grey.
I like the composition though.

Actually I think it was introduced as I tried to lighten the branch & get some detail back.

Actually the orange areas are desaturated quite a bit and the other areas increased to balance it a bit. As the sun hits the red ferns early in the morning the colours are so intense I remember think that someone upstairs had slid the saturation slider a bit too far ![]()

It's kind of a purple on my monitor but look back at the raw file it should be blue, so I might have hit a wrong button somewhere!
As ever - thanks for taking the time. It's appreciated.
It's an appealing composition, Chris, with the gate allowing a view of the river as it tumbles dow the hill. I wonder how this would have looked with the sky cropped away in its entirety. You'd lose part of the sunlit hillside but enough would remain to make an impact.
You are right about the colour of the light as the sun comes up, very intense. Good shot Chris

Quote: Chris what is the lighter circle area on the top third pretty much in the middle ... ?
Me being crap with the dodging & burning ![]()
