Blind Lady begging outside of a church in Lagos, Portugal.

The recession has hit Portugal hard, and the disadvantaged were even coming into the cafe's rattling tins for spare change .

This blind lady is one of two outside the main Church in Lagos.

You can't help but think what if this was your mother /. grandmother.........

Very sad fate. You made a very nice portrait of her though, I like the traces of a long, hard life in her face. Good light and colors, the framing too.

A great portrait, I like the matching dark colour of her coat and that of the door.

Oh, Gareth, how sad, one cannot image what it must be like for the blind at such a financially bad time. I am nearly deaf, and have always been so thankful that I still have my eyesight. Life can be so cruel and when someone who is old has to beg it makes you wonder why they are not being take care of ... this is a fantastic shot, and I am so sorry for her plight ... Carol

Good point, Gareth.

You've captured this lady sooo very well. This would make a good entry for this month's EPZ comp, I reckon.
