The day after I bought my new camera (a shiney new FujiFilm Finepix S8000fd!
) I decided to have a go at some flower photography. I don't do many flower shots, but I thought getting a new camera was reason enough to try ![]()
I was learning to use the manual mode, as well as trying out the 'flower' setting, so this was a bit of a learning curve (and unfortunately one that ended in all the shots being slightly too bright! :o )
I did quite like this shot, so I decided to try adding a border. I'd love to know what you all think ![]()

The colours are wonderful. I really like the composition and the close crop. I also like the way you've presented it.
If I had to find a minor fault, it would be that tiny triangle of blue on the right hand side - but that is a tiny niggle, hardly worth mentioning! ![]()
