Dungeness, June 2012. A length of rope designed to hold open the door of the fisherman's hut.
But I did appreciate the other suggestions Wink

An excellent beautiful composition which is a combination of two other beautiful compos. The clarity is astounding, and other merits of it are: the blue flower with its matching hue and the little blue of the pane leaning on the other shed; the brown colour of the hauled boat matching the colours of the sheds forming another triangle for the eye; the knot's being foregrounded and shown in its context, the path leading the eye to the sea. I can speculate more, but I should finish saying, I really LOVE this brilliant photograph!

The fuller picture is much better than the abstract. Well seen and composed Bill.

The abstract as part of the landscape, well pulled out of the shadows to delight the eye Bill. You do these images so well mere mortals would have passed by unseeing.

Good colour match on the rope and flowers.
I'd be tempted to crop off some of the darkness on the right, but I'm sure you left it there on purpose. It would make a square picture of two equal halves, but this would be balanced by the rope being far over on the right edge. Just my own preference. Smile

An extremely interesting and rather cleverly crafted composition, attracting both the colour of the rope and the similar coloured flower. The use of the moderately sized aperture still keeps one eye trained on the wider image without distracting us from the main focal point.

I have tackled a square crop as per Chris' suggestion: it wouldn't quite fit without clipping one ragged end off the rope.
It's funny how some people can envisage squares, whereas I generally seem to see compositions in 4x3 or 5x4 Smile

The Blue Knot sounds like some ancient secret society Bill !!
I can imagine some strange goings on in Dungeness beach in the days of Yore.
And I have Googled this Yore guy,but can't find any references to him at all !!
A knotty image, for some naughty goings on in the past here I think !!

Many congrats on your HC and User Awards. Richly deserved, indeed. I really like this, especially, as has been mentioned, the sharing of colour by the rope and the flower. Well done.

Two parts to the image and the blue is essential to link them together. A very well-seen and composed image, Bill.

All of the above and then some, a stunning image that almost makes me want to visit Dungeness (but not until next year if the weather gets warmer).

Love the way the plant complements the shape and colour of the knot. I actually prefer V1, as I feel the tighter crop in V2 draws the eye too much to the knot and away from the other elements in the image.Smile
