Blue Mountains and Trees

A section of the Appalachian chain--the Tuscarora Mountains as seen from Hanna Road, Newburg, Pennsylvania. For a brief moment in the morning these mountains appear purple-red, but most of the time they are blue.

For those who are interested in such things, this is a black and white image with reduced opacity, thus, some color is recovered. V2 is a full color image.

Like the muted colours for V1 Jenn.
Never heard of this reduced opacity stuff before,
so all the more interesting for that.
Heard of that flu color before though.
I don't want it again,so hence I get my flu jab from my doctor every year !!

Jenn,
What an interesting effect -- and it works perfectly here. Thanks for turning me on to a new approach to processing.
I really like this panoramic cropping as well.

Your processing in V 1 does add to the wintry effect, Jenn: I am torn between the two, so 1/2 vote to each.

Not easy to understand such a B&W image for me, but I like the effect a lot, Jenn. It works so well.

I love the muted tones of v1, the composition is perfect and works in both but especially with the limited palette version.

I love it - such a clever idea - reduced opacity mono - definitely going to try that.
The trees become more important in V1. Love it.

A beautiful high key image Jenn and so different from the rather ordinary tones of the original.

Learn something everyday (B&W w/reduced opacity) - thanks Jenn. V1 gets my vote for the pastel effect, but V2 is just a sliver behind. Art
