A third generation male common blue butterfly feeding on some devils bit scabious at Prestbury Hill nature reserve near Cheltenham. This male common blue was one of several newly emerged butterflies of this species that I saw there yesterday afternoon

There are not too many about over here now compared to what there was a few weeks ago. I had to search fairly hard to find these blues
