I have just recently bought a new camera a Fujifilm finepix S1000fd and will after christmas be purchasing a Canon eos 450d so was just getting some practice in on my dads digital camcorder. Please let me know what i could have done or could do to improve. Thanks

lovely composition and colours but I feel it needs to be a bit larger and a little bit sharper to enhance his details

Such a great picture with great colour.
I think it could be a bit better if it was sharpened up a bit

fantastic capture, but it looks like you have focused more on the bush, but great shot...

Yes, that's what it looks like. When focusing, check where the spot is that decides what your lens focuses on - often it lights up or has a different colour than the rest of what you see on the screen or through the viewfinder.

And when you decide to print or upload the image, it may help the impact of the shot if you crop it so that the bird plays a more prominent role in the image - now it only occupies a small part of it, so a crop would help.

Looks as though the pof is on the bush and should be on the Bluey's eye to get maximum sharpness. Other than that a nice capture. Good luck with the 450D

I agree with the above comment,try to fine focus on the eye if poss. when taking the shot the rest will if dof is good, all fall into place.
