This format also works very well, Lesley.
Stunning image. Beautiful colours and lighting.
Lovely image Lesley...strange title.
Beautiful image Lesley, portrait version works very well
Tom the title comes from a comment Paul left on my landscape version of here yesterday saying there was another comp to be had by chopping it in half, a kinda BOGOF which amused me.lesley
Superb shot Lesley - love the light and the f/g detail. Cheers, Andrew.
Paul saw what you already had waiting then !! I like the portrait but on this particular shot I might be tempted to cut off some of the sky to give more prominence to the ring.

Spooky that innit?
See what you mean about the sky. Like it, but can't help feeling the ring towards the bottom right corner [as per the crop I suggested on the previous shot] feels like a better placement for it.
Sorry, I'll just bog off
Superb POV and textures from the fg
Without looking at the description is this St. Micheals Mount
It is A lovely shot
ok v2 with a crop to the sky and moved the ring. not sure i like the edge of my path cut off though. Al theres not enough definition for me in the dark areas to lighten them more, its an old pic and i didnt have any with better exposure on the FG. ok off to work. lesley
v2 for me today lesley a cracker
Yep. Works for me.
v2 for me Lesley - better detail and pov
I agree with Linda - portrait or landscape both work well
It's a classic view, that iron ring is up there with Whitby's life belt as a photographic icon; and because of that there's a tendency to expect to see the classic interpretation. This is different, I like the way it creates a triangle of points of interest, giving importance to that rock. It makes me look again at a very familiar scene.
A great composition with the eye led through the image. - gary
A definite V1 vote.
Version 2 works better for me in terms of impact of the ring, also think it works better with less sky.
Glad to be No 30 on this super shot Lesley!
V2 for me also Lesley for the same reasons as Richard - lovely light and colours to this image, really makes me want to return soon
2 for me too!
A super viewpoint and portrait format always works so well on this type of shot. V2 for me.
V2 is an excellent composition Lesley. Very good shot.
Both yesterday's and today's are stunning Leslie and both have their merits. Well done superb.
Stunning shot Lesley.I like both versions.
A lovely capture Lesley. V2 does it for me.
Yep, 2 for me
Both give a different perspective, depends which you like....Jack
