Passing by a book shop, a sort of nostalgia made me take this photo a few years ago.I wonder if the sunshine on the shop assistance face makes it a bad photo. If it is, what shall I do?Give him some make up?Grin
This is nearly the original photo, only a bit shapened up for resizing. All commments and criticisms and MODs are welcome. Thank you.

There's something strangely appealing about bookshops isn't there?

As for the assistant's face, no, I think it needs to be lit as it is.
In fact the light works well with the foreground racks in bright sunshine (?) and the interior in relative darkness.
There's loads of colour and plenty to attract the viewers' eye.
I don't think you'd ever get the whole thing focused perfectly but it's plenty sharp enough,
The shot itself is really just a record of something that caught your eye and at a later date will doubtless invoke a memory or two.
I've cropped it to get rid of the shutter and the edge of the shelf on the RHS which I think helps the composition slightly and tidies it up in general.

Hope it's OK.

Bren.

Thank you very much Bren for your helpful comment and MOD.
It does look more tidy than the original image.
Yes, we read less and less books nowadays and see less and less bookshops...I used to go to bookshops all the time when I was in Beijing, but hardly anymore now,I do miss them.
Thank you again.

I think this is excellent and just needs cropping as in Bren's mod. Much better with the worker's face lit because then it becomes a portrait of him at work, rather than a photo of a bookshop that happens to have some guy standing in it.

bookshops are pretty staid places and the assistant gives it some life so leave him in the light, the crop will work as the mod shows.nice one Jasmine.
